History

The Allentown Guild of the Catholic Medical Association was chartered in March of 2009, with the Blessing of The Most Reverend Edward P. Cullen, DD, Bishop of Allentown, after two years of the Spiritual encouragement of Monsignor James J. Mulligan, Diocesan Ethicist and Most Reverend Father Robert Kosek, Provincial of the Barnabites and founder of the Medical Society of Saint Anthony Mary Zaccaria.

Father John Krivak, , Ph.D, current Diocesan Ethicist, has been our Chaplain since the Guild was chartered. Our Guild Officers are: Deacon Bruno Schettini, MD – President, Delphy DeFalcis, DO – Vice-President, Joseph Galassi, MD – Treasurer, and Henry Schairer, MD – Secretary.

The Allentown Guild is an Organization of the Secretariat for Catholic Life and Evangelization of the Diocese of Allentown. The Most Reverend John O. Barres, DD has shepherded our Guild since his ordination as Bishop of Allentown in June 2009.

At our 2012 White Mass, the Allentown Guild was consecrated to the protection of Saint Anthony Mary Zaccaria, Physician and Priest. The following links to a biography of Saint Anthony Zaccaria.
